 Favorite Song
Music By: Mark Thomas Delfino / Lyrics By: Mark Thomas Delfino & Angi Bowie - 1978

Its time to wake
Time to go to work
Time to turn on your radio

Lite a smoke
Make a run for the head
You got to hurry now you cant be slow

Take a shower
Shave and run
But dont slam your finger in the door

The sun is shinning
And the day is hot
But you’re moving right along

Your feeling better
As the day goes on
You just heard your favorite song

Every body’s got a favorite song
We all have a favorite song
Every body’s got a favorite song
You’ll hear it on the radio

Her's is happy
His is sad
Everybodys got a different bag

Her's is happy
His is sad
Everybodys got a different bag

Song Story:
I wrote this song on a hot summer day after slamming my finger in the back door to my moms house when I was leaving in a hurry to go to work. Then in the 80's while working for Paul I met and spent a lot of time with Angi Bowie. During that time Angi re-wrote some of the lyrics for this song.

Going Home
Music & Lyrics By: Mark Thomas Delfino - 2003

At 8:00 I’ll be in Georgia
I’ve watched the sun go down a again
With seven states between my home sweet home
And now I’m on going home again

I’m going home
I’m going home

Mother and Father will be so glad
Remember the best times I ever had
My brothers and sisters will be there too
And I know this trips over due

8:00 I’ll be in Georgia
I’ve watched the sun go down a again
With seven states between my home sweet home
Now I’m rolling home again

I’m going home
I’m going home

I’ll go and climb my favorite tree
I’ll bounce the children on my knee
I’ll take a swim in the old town lake
I’m going home for goodness sake

At 8:00 I’ll be in Georgia
I’ve watched the sun go down a again
With seven states between my home sweet home
And now I’m going home again

I’m going home
Where I belong
I’m going home
Been gone to long

Song Story:
In 2003 I was living in my Van in Florida and I had run out of money. My Mom and Dad sent me money to drive home to Connecticut so I could get back on my feet. When I started driving home I saw the most beautiful sunset then I spotted a sign that said Georgia 75miles. I looked down at my watch and said to myself 75miles at 8:00 I'll be in Georgia and I watched the sun go down again. I pulled over and looked at a map to see that Georgia is 7 states away from Connecticut. Realizing this rhymed I picked up my guitar and began writing this song about what it will be like going home after 30 years.

Rock N Roll Man

Music & Lyrics By: Mark Thomas Delfino & Jeff Beers - 1992

When I was younger
My mama told me
Follow your dreams and they’ll take you where you’re going

Up and over
To new horizons
Just be strong as you go on

Head for the sunset
Head for LA
They say the stars keep shinning there night and day

So I moved westbound into the city
I never ever got a little bit of pity
But I got rained on so many times
I didn’t think the sun was ever gunna shine on me

Till I started singing in a band
Trying to make a modern day stand
Singing in a band
Through the shades of a rock n roll man

She said to sing with all my might
And work my fingers to the bone
Now I could show that mom was right
Soon the band will play back home

I say don’t give up
Don’t loose your pride
And never let no body take you for a ride
One day you’ll look back and feel so proud
To know you worked so hard to push yourself through the crowd

Singing in a band
Trying to make a modern day stand
Singing in a band
Through the shades of a rock n roll man

Song Story:
In 1989 I put an add in a music connection paper looking for songwriter/guitar player like me. Someone whom I could not only relate to but a guy or girl I could write songs with. When I meet Jeff he was my age grew up in Boston and we immediately became in-separable. The song started out as an angry, rebellious kid wanting to become a rock star to rub it in every bodies face. Then Jeff said why dose it have to be angry?, my mom encouraged me in a loving way. That is when we decided to go Jeff's route and write about how his mom encouraged him to go for his dreams. Jeff and I went on to write several songs together over the years and still remain friends to this day.
